Our aim is to simplify the experience of cross-border VAT for businesses trading in Europe, through a policy of practical engagement with our clients and their indirect tax issues.
Our clients and colleagues are drawn from all over Europe and beyond; we’re a serious VAT business but work in a relaxed and informal environment. With plans to expand into the EU, we marry the integrity of the top professional services firms with the dynamism of an independent boutique.
VAT Consultants’ expertise is at the heart of our offering: many of our consultants have trained within a Big 4 firm before transitioning to a holistic role to help shape and support our growth.
As part of the run up to Brexit and the complexities it will create, we have a number of exciting opportunities to join our in-house consulting team. We pride ourselves on providing practical commercial advice that looks beyond merely confirming what the law says to how it is applied in practice.
Accordance is based in Brighton: a vibrant, cosmopolitan seaside town in the south-east of England, less than an hour from London. We offer an attractive, centrally located working environment.

- VAT Consultant
Consultants are an integral part of our collaborative approach to sales, service provision and internal development; responsibilities include:
- Researching and providing cross-border VAT advice to our international client base
- Providing technical and risk management support to our Compliance team
- Working in collaboration with our established Business Development team to qualify and develop opportunities with new and existing clients
- Monitoring and commenting on the changing international VAT landscape; including its impact on clients and company strategy
The successful applicants will have gained 3 years minimum relevant experience either in practice or in industry. We require candidates to have experience as a VAT Manager/Consultant in at least one EU Member State and whilst cross border VAT experience is preferred, it’s not essential.
We are keen to hear from candidates who are CTA qualified (or equivalent). Where part qualified, we are able to offer support in studying for professional qualifications.
Fluency in another major European language would be advantageous but is not essential.
We offer competitive salaries and bonuses, as well as the opportunity to work in a dynamic business that provides consultancy advice and compliance services to a diverse portfolio of clients, including some of the largest businesses in the EU and beyond.
The company believes in investing in people’s futures and rewarding hard work and success, whilst also making sure employees have the right work-life balance. We offer a wide range of staff benefits, including a pension scheme, private health care, a cashback scheme for medical expenses, 25 days holiday as standard (with an additional long-service holiday allowance) and flexi-time hours.
